Robin Wright and Ben Foster Split, Call Off Engagement

Foster has never been married before, while Wright has been married twice. She wed actor Dane Witherspoon, her co-star in the soap series Santa Barbara, in 1986. Their marriage lasted several months. They had no children together. Witherspoon died at age 56 in March. In 1996, Wright married actor Sean Penn. The two co-starred in State of Grace, which was released in 1990, while she was pregnant with their first child, daughter Dylan Penn, who is now 23. The two are also parents to son Hopper Penn, 21.

Wright filed for divorce from Sean in December 2007. They reconciled in April 2008, then broke up again. Sean filed his own papers seeking a legal separation a year later. After a month, in May 2009, he withdrew his request. Wright filed for divorce again in August 2009. It was finalized almost a year later.

Wright and Sean worked together several times. They also both starred in the '90s movies She's So Lovely, Loved and the comedy Hurlyburly, which also featured the actress's House of Cards husband, Kevin Spacey. Sean also directed his-then wife in his 1995 movie I'm Still Here and his 2001 film The Pledge.

Us Weekly first reported about Wright and Foster's breakup, citing their "crazy" schedules and their 14-year age difference as factors that contributed to their split.
