Lake Powell's Stateline Launch Ramp Closing Due To Low Water Levels

PAGE, Ariz. – Officials with the National Park Service said Lake Powell’s Stateline Launch Ramp will close to motorized vessels on Monday because water levels are lowering faster than previously predicted.

The closure at the ramp, which is located at the Utah-Arizona border, will remain in place until further notice.

“The Stateline Launch Ramp will remain open to non-motorized vessels (e.g., canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards),” NPS officials said. “Owners of non-motorized watercraft are advised to clean, drain, and dry their equipment to remove quagga mussels.”

The ramp had approximately 3 feet of water depth earlier this week. Alternative launching facilities for motorized vessels are located at the Wahweap Marina, which is about 1.5 miles south of the Stateline ramp.
