It can be daunting to return to work after maternity leave – but at least Sophie Cookson has her partner close at hand.
She and Stephen Campbell Moore were last week seen filming a new ITV drama together, her first new project since giving birth to their baby late last year.
And the real-life couple even play a fictional husband and wife in the ITV series The Confessions Of Frannie Langton.
Ms Cookson, 31, takes the role of eccentric French beauty Marguerite Benham, while Moore, 41, plays her scientist husband George.
‘Sophie and Stephen clearly loved filming together,’ said an onlooker who watched them at work in West Yorkshire.
‘When she finished her scenes, she rushed over and gave Stephen a big kiss.’
However, their characters in the four-part adaptation of Sara Collins’s Georgian-era novel meet a sticky end – they are found dead in bed in their Mayfair mansion and their maid, Frannie Langton, is accused of their murder.
Ms Cookson played the title role in BBC drama The Trial Of Christine Keeler, while Moore has a six-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Claire Foy, who played the Queen in The Crown.
